Serial Embedded or SE version models include SmartSource Micro Elite, SmartSource Elite 55 and SmartSource Micro Adaptive.
A serial embedded scanner has a small built-in processor and memory. It can also connect to a host PC over a standard USB cable but the API processes the image on the device and then exports the compressed image files to the computer. Machines running on Mac OS, Linux, or other non-Windows based environments can work with these devices.
The onboard process of image handling sends compressed jpg formats, so the maximum amount of data transfer approximates to 3 or 4MB per minute.
